The Sound of a Quiet Heart

During this time of the year, the constant bombardment the body and mind are put through everyday caused by the abundance of human generated noise serves as a steady reminder to the importance of quieting the heart on a regular basis.

The heart of the inner-beloved yearns for moments of tranquility, calm and serenity. It is in the quiet and still moments of peace when the core of our being can recuperate and regenerate one's emotional and mental energy.

When the human body is continuously immersed and engulfed in nonstop stimulation for extended periods of time the result can be anxiety, impatience, and irritability. It is essential for the body and mind of your inner-beloved to hear the sound of a quiet heart.

It was a mere six hundred years ago that the main human generated noise was a horse drawn cart. Now, six hundred years later the average family of four has 26 electronic devices which include televisions, stereos, computers, IPods, and cell phones.

The home was intended to serve as a sanctuary where the beloved's heart can retreat to calm and replenish itself. Is the idea of a home serving as a restful haven for the heart, soul, and body been swept completely away through the force of technology? During your average day how many moments are spent in the quiet, separating the heart and mind from the busyness of noise and distractions?

"No one on earth can escape the sounds of noise- an unwanted, disturbing sound that causes a nuisance in the eye of the beholder. Noise is a disturbance to the human environment that is escalating at such a high rate that it will become a major threat to the quality of human lives.

In the past thirty years, noises in all areas, especially in urban areas, have been increasing rapidly. There are numerous effects on the human environment due to the increase in noise pollution."

Set the alarm clock fifteen minutes earlier, turn the television off before the news starts and sit in the quiet of your living room, or slip into the bathtub with only candles burning.

Tap into your creativity and find a format that will allow you the opportunity to avail yourself to the Great Beloved. Eastern Religions have been teaching the Western World about the importance of quieting the heart and mind, for what seems like forever.

LISTEN. LISTEN. LISTEN. Your decision to take time to seek the healing energy of a quiet and tranquil heart will be directly reflected into your spiritual, mental, and physical health. Love yourself enough to take some quiet moments each day, and you will begin to reap the benefits immediately.

May this be the finest holiday season your heart can imagine for yourself and your family,
